Refunds/Credits for transactions with redacted/cached payment methods
If a payment method was originally cached (i.e. not retained) or it was explicitly redacted, how are existing transactions affected? Can you still perform a refund or credit against the transaction or has the auto/explicit cleanup of the payment method broken the ability to perform a refund?

Hi Skip,
Great question! The good news is, you can still perform a refund when the payment method has been redacted or not retained. To do so, you'll reference the "transaction token" in your API call to Spreedly to process the refund. That same transaction token is tied to a "gateway_transaction_id" which we submit to the gateway on your behalf to process the refund.
For reference, check out this section of our API documentation on processing refunds & credits.
Hope that helps!
