Does Spreedly remove our need to communicate with the gateway?
PinnedGateways have publicly available APIs with which Spreedly integrates to in order to offer support for over 100+ gateways. Spreedly would love to have strong business relationships with all the gateways we support, however, we do not necessarily have a strong business relationship with your particular gateway and may have offered support for the gateway using purely their API.
It's also important to note that Spreedly is the translator, but you are ultimately the gateway's customer, not Spreedly. They are much more likely to respond and offer support when their own customers are making requests of them.
Spreedly is an addition to the overall distributed system, not a replacement for the relationship you already have with the gateway. You'll still need a gateway account and will need to communicate directly with the gateway in the event a setting or update has been changed on the gateway side about which Spreedly may not have been notified.
