In order to successfully use 3DS Global via the Stripe gateway (Stripe Payments Intent), customers must contact Stripe at support@stripe.com to have the Import 3D Secure Results feature enabled on their Stripe account. The Stripe documentation can be found here: https://docs.stripe.com/payments/payment-intents/three-d-secure-import
In the request to Stripe customers must notify Stripe they are using Spreedly as the provider for orchestration and 3DS Authentication and request the information needed to create a Merchant Profile and a SCA Provider with Spreedly. The fields are:
- Acquirer Merchant ID (MID) from Stripe
- Acquirer Bank Identification Number (ABIN) from Stripe
- The merchant’s MCC on file with Stripe
- The merchant’s Doing Business As (DBA) name on file with Stripe
Note: In Stripe’s documentation they state when a customer uses their Stripe ABIN for authentication Stripe may charge a fee based on the customer’s configuration with Stripe. “For accounts with custom pricing, if you specify Stripe as your acquirer in the 3D Secure request, Stripe passes network costs applicable to 3D Secure through, per your agreement with Stripe.” Any fees from Stripe are in addition to fees that Spreedly may charge for 3DS.
